Your books belong to you.

Ledgerlyne is a privacy-first accounting application from Seminole Winds Technology. We do not run advertising, use third-party analytics, track users across apps or websites, sell personal information, or maintain a cloud database of Ledgerlyne company or financial records.

Information used for sign-in

Ledgerlyne uses Sign in with Apple and a dedicated authentication service to keep accounts separate across the iPhone, iPad, and desktop apps. The authentication service stores an opaque user identifier and may store the Apple relay email address Apple provides. It does not receive company names, bank registers, transactions, spreadsheets, reports, or contact lists. Session credentials are stored securely on the user's device.

Company and financial data

Company names, chart-of-accounts records, bank-register labels and last four digits, transactions, reconciliations, imported spreadsheet rows, contact email addresses, reports, and backups are written to files controlled by the user. Ledgerlyne does not upload the contents of those files to Seminole Winds Technology or its authentication provider.

Dropbox, iCloud Drive, and other storage providers

Users can choose a folder through Apple's Files picker or the desktop operating system. If a user chooses Dropbox, iCloud Drive, or another file provider, that provider synchronizes the selected Ledgerlyne file under the user's own account and privacy terms. Ledgerlyne does not receive the provider password or a Dropbox access token.

Contacts and email

Users may import a CSV or Excel file containing names, email addresses, and company names. Those contacts remain inside the user's Ledgerlyne book. When a user chooses to email a report, Ledgerlyne opens the device's sharing interface or default email application. Ledgerlyne does not read the user's inbox, store an email password, or send mail through a Seminole Winds Technology server.

Subscriptions and payments

The Ledgerlyne monthly subscription is purchased through Apple. Apple processes payment and manages billing. We do not receive or store card numbers or Apple ID passwords. The app reads Apple-provided subscription status so it can unlock subscribed features. The desktop companion sends your Apple-signed subscription transaction to our authentication service to check its current status with Apple. This includes purchase identifiers and your Ledgerlyne account identifier, but never your company files, transactions, reports, payment card details, or Apple password. This check requires an internet connection; it does not store your bookkeeping records.

Customer separation and security

Every Ledgerlyne book contains the opaque identifier of its owner, and both the phone and desktop apps reject a book assigned to a different signed-in account. Files also receive the protections of the device account and storage provider selected by the user. Users should protect access to their device and cloud-storage account and should not share raw Ledgerlyne files with unauthorized people. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Retention and deletion

The authentication record is retained while the Ledgerlyne account is active. A user can delete the Ledgerlyne account and the native app's local library from Settings. Backups and shared files previously saved in user-controlled storage are not accessible to us and must be deleted by the user. Account deletion does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; billing is managed through Apple.

Children

Ledgerlyne is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version here.
